Terms and Conditions (For Cleaners/ Service Providers)

All cleaners and other service providers getting business through the Gwiji mobile application must consent to be of 18 years and have no criminal record under the laws of Kenya, or any other country.

All cleaners and other service providers getting their business through the Gwiji mobile application must submit a copy of the national identification card for records and must be willing to provide a certificate of good conduct upon request.

All cleaners and other service providers getting their business through the Gwiji mobile application agree to be subjected to background checks when deemed necessary, the outcome of which may result in deactivation from the service.

All cleaners and other service providers getting their business through the Gwiji mobile application will be considered as independent contractors and not employees. Therefore, they will not be privileged to employee benefits such as: insurance, pensions, allowances, unions and leave, among others.

Contracted cleaners and service providers getting their business through the Gwiji mobile application will be required to pay a 20% commission per task accomplished.

Cleaners and other service providers getting their business through the Gwiji mobile application will do so at their own discretion. When a cleaner accepts a client’s requests, they have made a commitment. If the cleaner or any other Gwiji service provider fails to fulfil their commitment to their client, Gwiji reserves the right to terminate their contract with said cleaner/service provider.

Cleaners and service providers getting their business through the Gwiji mobile application will be required to exercise a high level of discretion and professionalism. As a consequence, sharing client information, such as client location, with other parties not pertinent to such information will immediately result in deactivation from the platform and forwarding of cleaner details to police authority.

Cleaners and service providers invited to attend training sessions hosted by Gwiji Cleaning Services Ltd., consent that photos, videos, and any other material taken, and collected during these sessions hitherto belong to Gwiji Cleaning Services Ltd., and may henceforth be used by Gwiji in the promotion of our service through public fora, including, but not limited to: social media, campaign posters, and physical billboards, in perpetuity.

In the event of customer complaints such as theft, dispute or lack of professionalism, Gwiji reserves the right to terminate their contract with the involved cleaner/service provider.

All cleaners and other service providers who register to use Gwiji mobile application unequvocally agree to all of these terms and conditions.

Terms and Conditions (For Users)

By using the Gwiji mobile application, clients acknowledge that they are at least 18 years of age, and thus qualify as adults under the laws of Kenya.

By signing up for Gwiji, clients allow us to send messages to their phone numbers the subject of which comprises instructions, updates and reminders.

Persons who are not of legal age engaging with the Gwiji mobile application will be deactivated once reported or found out, and their data effectively deleted from the platform.

Clients using Gwiji mobile application acknowledge that they will only use the platform only for the purpose of accessing the services provided by Gwiji cleaning services. Any other use of the mobile application to engage in illegal activities will be followed up with deactivation from the service and forwarding of the pertinent party’s details to police authority.

Clients who are unhappy with services provided by contractors working under Gwiji should air their concerns through the established channels i.e. ratings, comments or reaching out to Gwiji customer service for follow up. Clients who take any other action that may in any way endanger the safety of casual cleaners will be subject to deactivation, litigation and penalties.

Gwiji Cleaning Services Ltd. indemnifies itself from any damages incurred by the cleaner within the client’s premises. This includes any damages that may occur during the cleaning process. Clients are advised to be watchful of cleaner movements within their premises and only allow them in to their residence when absolutely necessary.

Gwiji reserves the right to deactivate clients from the platform as a consequence of misbehavior, improper usage or harassment of cleaners.

Privacy Clause

At Gwiji we are committed to protecting the personal information of our clients and their right to privacy.

Gwiji will only collect information shared by users of our services of their of volition when they download the mobile application or visit our website. This information is inclusive, but not limited to: name, phone numbers, physical locations, date of birth and billing information.

The purpose of collecting client information will only be for the purpose of aiding in the delivery of the services which Gwiji is set up to provide. In line with this, the information collected will not be shared with any third party without the consent of the pertinent parties.

The information collected on our clients will be stored only as long as is necessary to deliver our service or as long as required by law in the fulfilment of obligations such as tax, accounting and any other legal requirements.

Once there is no further legitimate reason to keep client information, it will be deleted, anonymized and if not possible, securely stored in back-up servers isolated from further processing until deletion is possible.

At Gwiji, we will not knowingly collect information from minors, who as per the laws of Kenya, are defined as persons under the age of 18.

Changes and Amendments

Gwiji cleaning services limited reserves the right to edit or modify the Privacy Clause and Terms and Conditions to better communicate acceptable usage of our service or to reflect new developments that might otherwise not have been captured within the existing contract.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
